Clacton
has long been a destination for holidaymakers, from the late
1800 people visited either by train or steamship.
In the 1890 Clacton boasted an Operetta House and Open Air Concerts
in the amphitheatre. .
In the n early part of the 19th century the Memorial Gardens
were to commorate the dead of two wars. The pier was a major
attraction with the Ocean Theatre, Children’s Theatre,
Blue Lagoon Dance Hall and Crystal Casino. The Pier also had
an open air swimming pool.
In the late 1920 early ‘30s’ the Westcliffe was rebuilt
and The Princes Theatres were opened, they still offer
year round entertainment today

short bus or train ride into Colchester gives you the opportunity
to see an ancient town with a large pedestrianised shopping
area, old narrow streets and beautiful buildings, museums
and a large park

Dedham is famous for the painter Constable, he grew up in
the area and painted many famous paintings, including ‘The
Haywain’. Manningtree and East Bergholt
are beautiful villages worthy of a visit.

Clacton on Sea - Apart from the amusements, we are
lucky enough to have some beautiful bays further along the
seafront where the children can play and paddle...

August brings the Air Show to Clacton, two days of classic
and new planes in flying displays all along the sea front.
Also carnival week - this ends with a massive firework display.
